Nigeria to take part in Dutch Open Darts championship

Nigeria will send representatives to take part inside the Dutch Open Darts Championship in Netherlands conserving in February 3 to 7, 2017.



The Secretary of Nigeria Darts Federation, Mr. Ademola Okeyedun, on Wednesday said that the championship will be the first day trip of the federation.

He stated that the primary hassle confronting the federation changed into lack of funds, that's a standard phenomenon to all sports federations.


He stated, “We did not organise any of our deliberate programme of the 2016 because of paucity of finances. The most crucial occasion that's our countrywide Darts championship; all our efforts to organise it became in useless.

“We didn’t take part in all the worldwide championships which were greater than 10 occasions, and the international body become sending us all of the invitation letters.

“The most painful issue turned into we couldn't attend the annual popular assembly in August in Switzerland in which we will have used the opportunity to desk our demanding situations.

“The simplest event of the federation this year turned into the demonstration of Darts inside the Federation of Public service games (FEPSGA) in Jos final month.”

Oyekedun urges Federal authorities and Non-Governmental corporations to assist the federation to obtain their plans in 2017.

He stated, “We need to trust that 2017 will be better than this 12 months due to the fact we actually need to execute at least 50 per cent of our programmes.

“We want aid from the Minister of sports activities and youth, Solomon Dalung; non-public organisations and philanthropies; the truth is that we are able to’t do whatever without them.
